The Bostswana Pen Pal Program was started in January of 2011 after our ESOL Literature class read The Kalahari Typing School For Men, set in Botswana.
The students exchanged letters, videos and packages, and got to know each other through writing and reading. Through the programme, the students learnt a lot about another culture and about Botswana as a country. They also learnt a lot about themselves and impressed the school community with their generosity, motivation and hard work to keep this project alive.
This year, ESOL 1, 2, 3 and 4 along with Multicultural Literature class will continue this project. Please see the pictures of our penpals in New Xade below.
