Remember to bring the following:  Pens, pencils, eraser, and novel for Part B (the essay section) of the exam.

20 Multiple Choice questions - Prefixes
15 Multiple Choice & Fill in the Blank questions- Comprehension Questions Of Mice and Men
3 Paragraphs - Critical Thinking questions  Of Mice and Men.  Be sure that each of your paragraphs contain the following: 
Topic sentence
Concluding sentence
Unity (each detail supports the topic sentence)
Transitions

Part B – Essay (You may use your novel for this section)
Of Mice and Men – Persuasive Essay Question
Length: 5-6 paragraphs/350-500 words

You will be graded on the following:

Introduction:
-Lead:  Used a lead that grabs the reader’s attention.
-Thesis statement: Included a thesis statement that gives your opinion clearly expresses your opinion.

Body:
-Argument:  2-3 paragraphs containing details that will convince the reader that your idea is a good one.
-Unity: All details support the topic sentence
-Counterargument / Rebuttal:  3rd or 4th paragraph contains a counterargument & rebuttal

Concluding Paragraph:
-Thesis statement: Restated your thesis statement in a new and creative way
-Clincher: Made a call to action or convinced reader to take your side

Content and knowledge:
-Provided evidence to support your opinions such as specific examples from book -Provided at least one direct quotation from the book to support and strengthen arguement

Transitions:
-Made use of transitions correctly and appropriately

Clarity and organization:
-Expressed ideas logically and clearly state your opinion

Voice:
-Used a varied vocabulary and persuasive language to convince the reader
-Used formal language and did not use slang or banned words

Editing:
-Used correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization
